‘Turn It Around’, The Short Film That Has Us Feeling Like Teenagers Again
We have already talked about how much we love queer cinema. Well, ‘Turn It Around’ is not going to change our mind - actually, it might have made us love queer cinema even more. It is directed by Niels Bourgonje, Dutch award-winning short film director, and it lives up to the expectations.
‘Turn It Around’ tells the story of 15 years old Bram, who goes to a house party with his friends. There, they try to push him to talk to other girls. But Bram only has eyes for Florian, who just came from Amsterdam.
As the evening goes on, Bram and Florian find themselves more and more attracted to each other and try to show it in a not so subtle way. Well, we have all been teenagers and we have all been there. Thinking we are just so good at not being obvious - spoiler, we never are. But it is all part of the game. To be honest, we miss it sometimes.
But back to our short film. It is a really good one to watch if you are in for the feel-good ones: it is hopeful, a little naive, full of kindness and, not to spoil, but it ends on a really good note. All in all, the perfect movie for leaving November and going into December, the month of celebration.
Just scroll down to watch it with English subtitles and thank us later!
