How Dorena Pads contributed to erase the menstruation taboo in Cameroon
"The incubation programme was the best experience I had in 2020. I don’t think that Dorena Pads would have achieved so much in such a short period of time without BØWIE"

asked Questions
In 2024-2025, we accept projects from Switzerland only. For specific country participation criteria, see the table above.
Other criteria to consider:
We welcome and encourage projects:
1. Focusing on all Gender+ topics: Gender identities / Sexual and Romantic orientations / Gender expressions / Physical characteristics / Feminism & Equality. For more information about the 11 themes on which we focus, see our Mission.
2. From all fields: Culture / Education / Work / Fashion / Technology / Photography / Health / Sport... because gender is ingrained in so many different areas of society that there is no one way to tackle change.
3. At all stages:
- You only have an idea? No problem! You do not need to have a well-crafted project to get started. Our curriculum and the BØWIE Community will help you turn it into a concrete project.
- You have already started your project? Excellent! Our curriculum and the BØWIE Community will help you take it to the next level and make it skyrocket!
4. With an impact at any scale: at a national level / in your city / region / school / university / company / sports club / online
5. In line with the 5 BØWIE values: BØWIE stands for Bold, Øpen, Wild, Innovative and Empowering. Those are the values we are looking for in each of the projects we support. Not quite there yet? Don't worry, our mission is to help you achieve those goals! Learn more about each value in our About Us page.
The participation fees for the 6-month programme are per team. In Switzerland the programme costs CHF 500.
Your project is also eligible if it has a strong impact in Switzerland. In this case, your fees will be based on those required for projects from Switzerland.
The participation fees represent a fraction of the real operating costs of the programme (that you'll never be asked to pay), as you can see here:
Real cost per project for Switzerland:
Real cost of the programme: CHF 6'000.-
Amount paid by our sponsors: CHF 5'500.-
Remaining fee paid by you: CHF 500.- (8%)
Nevertheless, it is essential to us that the programme remains fully inclusive and accessible to all.
For this reason, we are able to offer scholarships to Swiss projects, making the cost of the programme CHF 50.-, if their team leader is:
- under 25 years old
- a student
- receiving social welfare benefits (unemployment, invalidity, asylum seeker or refugee status)
You don’t belong to any of these categories but can’t afford to pay the full price? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with additional partial or full scholarships!
Simply book a meeting with Deborah, our Head of Incubator Programme, to discuss scholarships opportunities.
The accessibility of our incubation program is a high priority for us.

The deadline to submit your project is June 30th, 2024. You can apply here.
Once you have filled out the Project Submission form, you will receive a confirmation email.
You will be informed by the beginning of July if your project has been selected to join BØWIE Incubator Programme.
We will then be looking forward to meeting you for the Start Events on the 21st of September and 5th of October (2-6pm CET - online)!
We want to make BØWIE Incubation Programme as accessible as possible.
However, we have a relatively active rhythm with activities and events several times per month.
In order to make them as accessible as possible, participants will get a say in when the Community Events, with a very interactive programme (with workshops & guest speakers), will take place.
In addition, videos with the theoretical part of each module will be available on an online platform & replays of each Community Events will be available for those who were unable to attend live. It is therefore entirely possible for you to participate in the incubator if you have a full-time occupation.
In order to benefit to the maximum of BØWIE Incubation Programme, we recommend that you participate at least to 80% of our events (unless you have a health condition that prevents you from doing so). We estimate that at least 5 hours of work per week on your project is required.
Find out more, by checking out the programme.
Of course! One of the strengths of BØWIE is that the methodology we use to accompany projects is adapted to their needs: through community events workshops, 1:1 coaching sessions and all the feedback you will receive from the BØWIE team, your peers, the guest speakers and the experts, your project will skyrocket.
Here are just some examples of things that the programme can help you with:
- organize and (re)focus your strategy
- improve your website and boost your traffic
- improve your conversion rates
- grow your prospect list and customer base
- increase your sales
- improve your financing strategy
- find investors
- master your pitch
The goal of BØWIE Incubation Programme is to help you put your project together, give it a great boost and have a long-term impact!
Yes, the incubation programme will end after 6 months, but never fear!
After these 6 months, you will have a lifetime access to the content we’ll share with you (videos, the replays, the templates) and also access to our network of guest speakers, experts & Alumni·æ that you will meet during the incubation programme. So you will never be alone, even after the 6-months programme.
You will always be part of the BØWIE Community to which you can turn to for guidance :-)
You will be asked to describe your project, its impact, your needs and your expectation from BØWIE Incubator, a picture of your project team (or pictures of the team member(s) in good quality). Completing the application form takes approximately 50-70min.
If you are not sure if you can complete it all at once, we recommend that you take note of the questions asked (by scrolling), answer them on a separate document and once you are ready, complete the questionnaire online.
Typeform does not have a "save and finish later" feature.
We strongly believe in building bridges, learning from each other and the importance of creating synergies within our communities.
We dream of bringing projects from different cantons to collaborate and enrich each other! Therefore, it is obvious to us that all projects will participate together in joint events. ;-)
Don't worry: BØWIE 2024-2025 will take place!
Although the pandemic is a bit behind us, we understand there may still be concerns about this!
All our event will be held online, so that each participant, each partner and each member of the BØWIE team can fully benefit from it without taking any risks.
Is it the right context for you to launch your project? Nowadays, with technology, you can be productive and create social change from home and during, and after, a pandemic! With BØWIE, impact can be achieved anywhere. All you need is an idea or a project to get you started. Are you ready to connect with the community and create the change you want to see?
The deadline for submitting your project is: June th, 202.
We will communicate regularly about the situation on social media. You can follow our account to stay updated: Instagram.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out: incubator@bowiecreators.com
BØWIE 2024-2025 will officially start on the 21st of September and 5th of October with its START Event (two half-days).
Given the Covid-19 situation, and our new reach beyond the Swiss borders, the event will take place online. Don't worry if you're not at ease with technology: our team will assist you with any technical needs or questions to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. However, to be part of BØWIE Incubator Programme, it is important to submit your project before June 30th, via the link below.
BØWIE is a country-wide programme and the best way to make it accessible for people from the different cantons is to have a programme that is in English. However, the BØWIE Community is multilingual and so it will be possible to speak in the different regional languages with the other participants!
Yes. At BØWIE, we do our best to ensure that all our activities are accessible to everyone. For this reason:
- We offer remote solutions (written, video, or audio) for people who would be uncomfortable speaking face-to-face or attend our online events
- All our events are recorded, so you can watch a replay of them.
- All our masterclasses are available with english subtitles.
- We do our best to accommodate your needs if you have a health issue that prevents you from attending our live events. In addition, replays will be available for our events. Of course, the live experience is not comparable to the replayed one.
- Upon request, we can provide sign language interpretors (LSF or DGS)
For the Awards Ceremony (the only in person event) :
- The event will take place in a location accessible to wheelchair users
- All snacks and food will be vegetarian (if not vegan) and adapted to participants’ special diets.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have specific needs. Our team would be happy to keep improving BØWIE's accessibility and make it the perfect experience for you.
