No Box For Me: An Intersex Story

To celebrate, we are very proud to present you a wonderful project featuring one of our own team members. 'No Box for Me - An Intersex Story' is a beautiful educational film that adresses a subject we definitely do not hear enough about.

According to the United Nations, around 1.7% of the population is born as intersex, and many intersex children have medical unnecessary interventions done against their will or without their informed consent. Intersex rights are part of human rights and it is urgent that we address the issue. Forced medical interventions on intersex children are actually recognized as a violation of human rights by the UNO. Unfortunately, many intersex people around the globe suffer from discrimination, stigmatization and physical violence.

So today, we wanted to focus on something positive. The documentary 'No Box For Me' shows the growth and evolution of different intersex characters. It explores how they navigated the discovery, how they present themselves to the world and how they help others. By showing the different realities of what it means to be intersex - because yes, intersex folks are a diverse group of populations with each their own personal story - it contributes to raise awareness for a subject that remains quite taboo.
